Mexico’s billet production drops to 5-year low
Mexico's billet output was sharply down in January, Kallanish notes.
Mexico produced just 63,344 tonnes of billet during the month. This was a fall of 60.6% from December’s 160,813t and 66.3% lower compared with the same month in 2022, according to local statistics provider Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía's (Inegi) preliminary report.
