Mexico’s monthly billet production declines sharply y-o-y
Mexican billet output increased sequentially in February but was weaker compared with a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
According to local statistics provider Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi) preliminary data, Mexico produced 64,117 tonnes of billet during February. This was a growth of 1.2% from January but 64.5% lower compared with the same month in 2023.
