US rigs rise by 9, Canada up 3

Both the US and Canadian rig counts ticked up in the week ended 30 October, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.  The US rig count increased by nine net rigs to 296, down 526 from last year.  Rigs geared for oil production increased by 10, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by one.  Texas led the notable net gains by state with eight, followed by New Mexico with two.
