US rigs rise by 5, Canada up 11
Both the US and Canadian rig counts ticked up in the week ended 22 January, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US count increased by five net rigs to 378, down 416 from last year.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by two and rigs geared for natural gas production increased by three.
Texas led the notable net gains with six, while New Mexico led the by-state losses with five.
