Turkish domestic scrap remains stable, EU-origin scrap down
Turkish mills' domestic scrap buying prices have remained mostly unchanged this week amid energy issues, Kallanish notes. Steelmakers continue to demand domestic scrap, however, while import demand is lacking.
Turkish domestic scrap supply has been hit by harsh winter conditions. With heavy snow closing many roads, transportation has been heavily restricted. On the other hand, Turkish mills' demand for domestic scrap is also subdued.
