Turkish billet imports drop in October
Turkish billet imports under HS code 720711 slumped 55% on-year in October to 102,052 tonnes, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data. They were however up 16% from September.
Intake from Russia in October more than halved to 54,707t, but Algeria supplied 20,003t versus zero last year. Egypt supplied over 10,000t versus zero last year, but Kuwait and Oman provided zero compared to over 45,000t and 39,000t respectively in October 2022.
