Steel futures jump to one-month highs
Spurred by more restocking and Tangshan’s restrictions on sintering machines, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures jumped to nearly one-month highs on Tuesday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 72/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 3,837/t ($535/t), while the same contract for HRC gained CNY 69/t to CNY 3,884/t.
