Steel futures rebound on speculative buying

Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures have rebounded slightly on Tuesday, but spot market demand remained weak in the off-season. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded May 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 4,023/tonne ($563/t) on Tuesday, a recovery of CNY 25/t on the prior trading day.
