SAIL supplies DMR plate to Indian Navy
State-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has supplied the entire Defence Metallurgical Research (DMR) grade specialty steel requirement for the nation’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. The steel company shipped 30,000 tonnes of the specialty steel for building this carrier, Kallanish notes.
