Raw steel slips in US
US raw steel production fell slightly in the week ended 27 August and remains down on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Production stands at 1.747 million short tons at 79.3% capability utilisation, down 0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 79.7%, and down 6.7% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 84.8%.
