Raw steel slumps in US
US raw steel production ticked down in the week ended 30 April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production reached 1.775 million short tons at 81.3% capability utilisation, down 0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 81.7%.
Production is also down 3.2% on-year, when utilisation was 80.8%.
