LatAm’s finished steel production increases in January
Latin American finished steel production rose month-on-month in January and was also higher than a year earlier, Kallanish learns from regional steel producers' association Alacero.
Finished steel output reached 4.57 million tonnes in January. This was 505,800t more than in December 2023 and up 3.3% year-on-year. Flat steel accounted for 49.1% or 2.24mt of output, while longs and seamless tubes were 2.2mt and 121,400t, respectively.
