TMC produces cobalt sulphate from seafloor polymetallic nodules
The Metals Company (TMC), formerly DeepGreen Metals, claims to have produced the world’s first cobalt sulphate derived only from seafloor polymetallic nodules.
It was done through test work carried out with SGS Canada at a facility in Lakefield, Ontario, Kallanish learns from the company. Testing firm SGS used samples of nickel-cobalt-copper matte first produced by TMC in 2021.
