The Metals Company says it has started submitting data on mining metallic nodules on the Pacific Ocean floor to the United Nation’s International Seabed Authority (ISA), Kallanish reports.
Subsidiary Nauru Ocean Resources Inc has shipped the materials to DeepData, an open database of contractor data managed by the ISA, in advance of a formal nodule mining application that is expected to be submitted in the second half of 2023.
