Whitehaven achieves record earnings on higher coal prices
Australian coal miner Whitehaven Coal has reported record net profit and revenue for the half year ended 31 December 2022, as coal prices surged, Kallanish notes.
The group's net profit soared to AUD 1.78 billion ($1.23 billion) in its financial first half from AUD 340.5 million a year ago. Revenue also jumped to AUD 3.81 billion from AUD 1.44 billion.
