Vietnamese commercial HRC buying resumes at lower levels
The Vietnamese hot rolled coil import market has seen China-origin offers fall further, to a level sufficient to entice buyers of commercial grade HRC, Kallanish notes.
Chinese SS400 grade HRC export prices were at $820/tonne cfr Ho Chi Minh City on 26 April, down from $840-845/t cfr on 22 April. In response, Vietnamese importers gave bids at $800/t cfr, which suppliers did not accept, Kallanish understands. However, there was some compromise later in the week.
