US sheet prices continue to rise
US hot rolled coil prices have increased to $980-1,100/short ton from $970-1,000/st, and cold rolled coils are now between $1,155-1,180/st, up from $1,150-1,175, Kallanish learns.
“All prices are moving up. Nobody’s willing to identify the real cause, and mill production is at 75%,” says the operator of a service centre.
In the equivalent week last year, HRC pricing was $1,050-1,200/st while CRC pricing was $1,530-1,560/st.
