US raw production makes modest gains on-week
US raw steel production increased on-week in the week ended 18 March, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Production reached 1.69 million short tons during the week with a capability utilisation of 75.4%, up 0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 75.0%, and down 1.4% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 78.7%.
