US plate pricing holds for 8th week

US plate prices held for the eighth consecutive week this week at $1,460-1,490/short ton, Kallanish reports. The last significant movement occurred during the week of 23 November, when prices ranged from $1,600-1,630/st.
“Prices are holding and business has picked up significantly. I still think the plate market may see a decrease in March once Nucor gets up and running,” says a North American distribution source.
