Severstal substitutes imported lance tips to continue production
Russian steelmaker Severstal has started production of tuyere tips at its Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK), the company tells Kallanish. This will cover the shortages seen of foreign-sourced oxygen lance tips due to sanctions. Without these, oxygen supply and therefore liquid steelmaking is made impossible.
