Plate prices hold steady on-week in US
For the second consecutive week, prices of carbon steel plate in the US remain within the range of $1,200-1,220/short ton.
An East Coast distributor tells Kallanish that the market is not improving. That distributor says he pays below what the mill advertises as its minimum price.
“Demand is still extremely soft. I just bought at a price that the mill I purchased from hasn’t publicly acknowledged,” says the distributor.
