Nucor selects West Virginia for new sheet mill
Nucor will build its $2.7 billion greenfield sheet mill in Mason County, West Virginia, Kallanish reports.
The site was chosen for its location on the Ohio River which will provide the steelmaker with transportation and logistical advantages to more easily serve customers in the Midwest and Northeast US. The company is also considering sites in the northern part of the state for a transload and processing facility.
