NMDC slashes iron ore prices amid surplus supply
Following India’s duty imposition on exports, iron ore supply in the Indian domestic market has surged, which has in turn created pressure on miners. State-run iron ore miner NMDC has therefore dropped its iron ore offers for July deliveries.
This is the third time the company has dropped its iron ore prices since the finance ministry announced a 15% tax on steel exports and 50% duty on iron ore exports, Kallanish notes.
