NLMK achieves full ore-to-coil steelmaking automation
Russian steelmaker NLMK has launched manufacturing execution system (MES) enabling the automation of its steelmaking operations with complete "ore to coil" process control, the company says.
“The MES enables planning and control of steel production, from the making of hot metal to the shipment of slabs to customers or into downstream processing,” the company notes.
