Kametstal boiler overhaul reduces gas consumption, increases productivity
Metinvest’s Kametstal steelworks has started a long-term overhaul of boiler unit No.11 in the combined heat and power plant, Kallanish notes.
The unit is designed to generate saturated steam for the production of its own electricity on backpressure generator No.7.
Estimated natural gas savings after the implementation of the planned repairs will be 10%. The hourly productivity of the boiler unit will also increase, the plant claims.
