Italian rebar prices slide
Italian rebar prices have fallen €20/tonne ($20.9) so far since the beginning of May. This is in line with the wave of reducing prices for most long and flat products in the country, and is a result of lower domestic sales.
Most producers are asking for €850-860/t base ex-works, down from €870-880/t at the beginning of May. Buyers tell Kallanish they are purchasing small volumes at €820-840/t base ex-works this week.
