Indian government scraps SAIL Salem steel plant privatisation
India’s Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has decided to annul the sale of Steel Authority of India (SAIL)’s Salem steel plant (SSP) in Tamil Nadu. The government attributes the move to a lack of interest from the shortlisted bidders, Kallanish notes.
