Huake Nickel Indonesia ignited the second rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) at its plant in Weda Bay Industrial Park on 19 May, marking the completion of half of the planned capacity of the project, Kallanish notes.
The first RKEF at the plant had started production 33 days earlier (see Kallanish 20 April). The nameplate capacity is 45,000 tonnes/year of pure nickel metal in nickel matte.
