German rebar softens

The stabilisation of prices expected by many German rebar market players to occur in the new year has failed to materialise. In fact, the trend is down, with some extreme fluctuations occurring recently.
The latest moves have brought the base price from domestic mills pretty sharply down to the mark of €500/tonne ($530), central and northern German buyers tell Kallanish. Adding the standard size extra of €265, this translates to €765/t delivered.
