German fabricators assess costs from extra gas charge

The federation of Germany’s steel and metals fabricators, WSM (Wirtschaftsverband Stahl- und Metallverarbeitung), warns of extra costs if the German government introduces a gas procurement neutrality charge this autumn To cushion revenue losses for importers of Russian gas, manufacturing industries will be imposed with an extra charge of 2.4 cent per kilowatt-hour, from 1 October.
