French stainless scrap prices flatten
Stainless steel scrap prices in France are mostly stable month-on-month, Kallanish notes. Similar stable values are being registered in other European countries such as Spain and Italy.
Mills’ activity in France is at normal levels in February as was the case in January. Mills are paying for grade 304 at €1,540-1,550/t ($1,655-1,666) delivered this month. Sellers are reporting very tight margins and short scrap availability.
