Egypt’s Ezz Steel initiates domestic rebar price drop
Egypt's flagship steelmaker, Ezz Steel, has dropped domestic ex-mill rebar prices by 12% to EGP 46,500/tonne from EGP 53,250/tonne including 14% VAT, notes Kallanish.
El Garhy also set its new price at EGP 46,300/t, while Shad, Al Giushi, Alco, Al Maady, Aayad and Antar are at between EGP 44,800 and 45,500/t. El Marakby, Suez and a few other major producers are still evaluating the market and have not announced their prices yet. Payments are due in cash.
