CISA forecasts China steel demand drop in 2024
Chinese steel demand is expected to drop 1% year-on-year in 2024, weighed down by construction and machinery demand, though steel demand from automobiles, home appliances, shipbuilding, containers and energy will pick up on-year, according to the China Iron & Steel Association (CISA), Kallanish notes.
