CIS steel output falls amid Russian-Ukrainian war

CIS crude steel production decreased in March, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Regional output amounted to an estimated 7.43 million tonnes, down by 19% year-on-year. During the first three months of 2022, crude steel production was 24mt, down 8.5% on January-March 2021. Russian production in March is estimated to have been at 6.59mt, down 1.8%.
