Chinese scrap prices decline, demand recovers
Although scrap prices in China are still on a downward trend, demand for scrap in the spot market has started to pick up.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,719/tonne ($391/t), including VAT. This is CNY 39/t lower from Thursday and CNY 23/t lower from the previous Friday.
