Chinese non-VAT wire rod prices tumble in ASEAN
ASEAN wire rod import markets are weak amid bearish sentiment, Kallanish notes. Some Chinese wire rod was booked in Manila early this week because prices have fallen to buyers’ accepted levels.
In Manila, bookings of Chinese mesh-grade 6.5mm diameter SAE 1008 wire rod for April shipment were dealt at $535/tonne cfr early this week. The orders were for 1,000-2,000t each. Offer prices have slipped to around $530/t cfr, a Manila trader says.
