China's scrap prices shrink on declining demand
China's scrap market demand continued to narrow last week, with steel mills having sufficient inventories to reduce purchases.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,629/tonne ($573/t), including VAT. This is CNY 4/t down from Thursday and CNY 23/t lower compared with the previous Friday.
