Southwest German sources report cheap Italian rebar quotes
Particularly low-priced rebar offers from Italy in some German regions have stirred up domestic mills, although the cases could be isolated outliers in a market of already weak prices.
According to one German mill source, offers of below €500/tonne ($562) have appeared in southwestern Germany. “And this includes transports by truck via Austria to the doorstep in the Black Forest, including road tolls in three countries,” the source points out…
