Brazil’s wire rod imports calm in December
Brazil remained a net importer of wire rod in December and full-year 2023, Kallanish notes. The country’s trade deficit was almost 13,890 tonnes in the month, compared with 20,120t in November and 12.780t in the same period in 2022. The country ended 2023 with imports exceeding exports by almost 172,552t, according to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data.
