Brazil’s steel trade surplus widens in March
Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in March. The country’s trade surplus was almost 456,313 tonnes in the month, widening by 87.7% versus February but narrowing 48.9% year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
The trade surplus for the first three months of 2024 reached 1.26 million tonnes, compared with 2.09 million tonnes in January-March 2023. The reduction is mainly driven by 25.4% higher imports on-year.
