Brazil's March wire rod trade deficit widens
Brazil remained a net importer of wire rod in March. The country’s trade deficit was almost 10,630 tonnes in the month, widening 19.4% over February, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, imports of wire rod reached 15,400t in March, up 27.3% versus the previous month but 12.6% weaker y-o-y. Three-month intake totalled 43,090t, a decrease of 17% y-o-y.
