Bahraini traders cut rebar intake, anticipate fall
The Bahraini market is awaiting imported rebar prices from Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The local benchmark mill is assessing the market to adjust its price in March from BD 235-240/tonne ($625-638) delivered on LC-60 days in February.
New entrant Manama Steel is meanwhile yet to get ministry approval for any rebar size and, consequently, may miss penetration of the market in March, notes Kallanish.
