UK BEV sales surge 87.9% in July
UK’s Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said Friday new battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations surged 87.9% on-year in July to 23,010 units, Kallanish reports.
The powertrain led the percentage growth in the industry in the month, reaching a market share of 16%. Plug-in electric vehicle (PHEV) sales rose 79.1% on-year to 11,702 units and a share of 8.1%.
