NICKEL: BHP inks nickel supply deal with Tesla
Australian mining giant BHP announced on Thursday it has entered a partnership with Tesla to supply the EV and battery storage company with nickel, Kallanish reports.
Nickel produced at BHP’s Nickel West asset in Western Australia will be shipped to Tesla from the Port of Fremantle. The 99.8% purity battery material is considered one of the most sustainable and lowest carbon emission nickel products in the world, according to BHP.
