COPPER, NICKEL: BHP posts lower 3-month production
Anglo-Australian mining, metals and petroleum firm BHP saw its copper production fall both in the quarter ended in March and the nine-month period of the 2020/21 financial year, Kallanish notes. The company, however, upgraded its copper output guidance for FY2020/21 to 1.53-1.66 million tonnes, from 1.51-1.64m t previously.
BHP operates four copper projects: Escondida and Pampa Norte in Chile, Antanmina in Peru and Olympic Dam in Australia.
