Caterpillar, Albemarle partner on zero-emission lithium mining
Caterpillar and Albemarle have entered a collaboration agreement focused on supporting sustainable mining and the battery value chain.
Under the agreement announced Wednesday, heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar will be able to use Albemarle’s North America-produced lithium for its battery production. The companies will also explore partnering on battery cell technology and recycling R&D opportunities, Kallanish notes.
