BHP Chilean remote operators declare strike
Workers at BHP's Chilean copper unit went on an indefinite strike on 27 May after ongoing talks with the company's management over the new collective agreement collapsed, Kallanish reports.
The 205 members who went on strike are part of BHP's integrated operations centre, which remotely manages pits and cathode and concentrators plants at the Escondida and Spence mines.
