Longs: The Southeast Asian rebar import market traded in a trough throughout August. The market was calm and liquidity was significantly reduced.

Semis: The ASEAN billet import market saw prices almost flat in August, with buying demand weakening after briefly holding steady in early August. Earlier expectations that a stronger Chinese domestic market would drive regional steel prices higher have been dashed by the reversal in the Chinese futures market.

Raw Materials: The continued price gap between sellers and buyers for imported scrap continues to hinder deals in Vietnam.
