Zisco becomes Iran’s second blast furnace-based steelmaker
Zarand Iranian Steel (Zisco) has commissioned its new blast furnace-based steelworks with coke dry quenching (CDQ) plant, becoming only Iran’s second active BF-based steelmaker after Esfahan Steel.
The total investment was IRR 240 trillion ($5.7 billion) for 1.7 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity allocated to billet. The complex will create jobs for 2,300 people, Kallanish notes.
