Wugang to replace converters
Wuhan Iron & Steel (Wugang) has announced on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Commission of Hubei Province website that it will add one new converter and close two old converters in 2019. A total 10,000 tonnes/year of steel capacity will be eliminated by the replacement, Kallanish notes.
Wugang plans to add one 120-tonne converter with 1.35 million t/y of steel capacity by March 2020, and construction will start in February …
